MARCH 27: Tri-Valley Writers Panel Discussion
Tri-Valley Writers and the San Ramon Library present “Writing in the Genres” on Thursday, March 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Join three of your fellow writers at the San Ramon Library, 100 Montgomery Street, for a fun-filled evening of learning how to write in different genres. Bring a pen and paper to take part in the audience participation section, then share a bit of your writing from a given prompt.
After a lifetime love affair with science fiction and fantasy, Marlene Dotterer started contributing to the genre in 2007. She has published four novels: The Time Travel Journals, a series with alternate universes; Moon Over Donamorgh, a historical fantasy set in early 19th century Ireland; and Worlds Apart, a contemporary werewolf romance.
Victoria Emmons started dabbling in poetry several years ago and has her work published in the 2011 issue of Tapestries, an anthology of creative writings by seniors, and Voices of the Valley: Encore; an anthology published in 2014. She is currently writing a novel about flaws in the American justice system.
Steve Workman is a founding member of Tri-Valley Writers and winner of its first writing contest. He has been writing the great American novel for most of his life—one short story at a time. He is published in the 2003 Las Positas College anthology (honorable mention for The Mailman), the 2008 Livermore Literary Harvest, and Voices of the Valley: Encore.
Come out to support the written word, learn a little something about a different genre than what you write, and catch a glimpse into the hearts of these three Tri-Valley Writers members.
Nothing surpasses an evening of writing. Hope to see you there.
Thanks Marlene for getting the word out. Should be a fun event.
