Sandy Tan is a soil scientist with a difference: she's a member of the Spiorad an Dúlra, people who can communicate with a sentient planet.
Sandy is a farmer on the Explorer Spaceship Carson, a traveling city of five thousand people, all committed to scientific exploration of the galaxy.
